Customer Reviews Nice Overview of Reiki Healing & Traditions, August 18, 2002 - Reviewer: Jed Shlackman from Miami, FL United States This book carefully examines the roots of Reiki healing and the nature of energy healing, from a metaphysical and scientific perspective. It provides many beneficial insights and explanations, covering everything from chakras & subtle energy layers to shamanism, the meridians, and Taoist theories of yin/yang & 5 elements. In covering so much, the authors address some issues that need to be covered in more depth. For example, the chakra color associations listed are misleading, and the elements described are just one system which is not compared to other common metaphysical/alchemical systems. Nevertheless, this book is about the best at putting Reiki in a suitable context and explaining how and why it produces healing and transformation.
